Volunteering before buying a ticket
There us no information about volunteering on the website yet. How can I find out about volunteering prior to buying my ticket on Saturday? Alternatively, if I buy my ticket and am subsequently accepted as avolunteer, do I get a ticket refund?

Go to the Clean Vibes website (http://cleanvibes.com/) they handle volunteering. I signed up today and had no issues.

So when I pay this 275 dollar registration fee, is that like a deposit that I will get back? Do I get a ticket with my volunteering?

More or less. You pay the $275, of that you will get $250 back about a week after the festival, assuming you complete the required amount of work. I have not volunteered at Bonnaroo specifically before, but from what I gather you will need to pick up your ticket from the Clean Vibes tent onsite when you get there rather than a ticket being sent out to you, but I am not 100% on that, it may be that it gets sent out, but you have to check in when you arrive to make sure you are on the schedule and will have the cost refunded.

there are different ways of volunteering, if you want to explore all of your options you'll just have to keep checking back on the bonnaroo main page (under their get involved tab, volunteering)
also you wont get any kind of ticket, you will get a volunteer bracelet. you pay the 275 fee for a ticket (in case someone decided they don't want to work then bonnaroo still gets the funds) and you pay a 25 dollar fee that you don't get back (you get the 275 back) -

okay, I understand how it works. my base question though, is do I need to worry about tickets selling out before I find out what I need to know about volunteering. my friend had told me they would sell out on Saturday.

I highly doubt they will sell out on so early, they only have a set number of tickets for these early (and set time) sales so they will sell, but when they open up the final price lvl (will be 5 and they are on 4 now) that's when they would sell out.
The volunteering info and application comes out in march so you have some time to think about whether or not you want to volunteer. Just keep checking the main page under "get involved" and "volunteers".
If it helps, if I remember correctly the tickets didn't sell out till around may last year -

I have volunteered before. Bonnaroo will not sell out by Saturday. I volunteered with the work exchange team. You can read the information on their site even though it probably isn't updated. If you plan on volunteering DO NOT buy a ticket. You will not get your money refunded. You pay something like $25 dollars to apply and if you apply early you will be accepted. After you are accepted you secure your spot by basically buying a ticket from them. You get there a day early. Kind of sucks because the gestapo locks you down in Pod 1. You get 3 meal tokens which get you a good amount of food actually. A volunteer shirt that if you play your cards right gets you into places you probably shouldn't be. Have to work 3 six hour shifts. None of mine lasted that long. If you fulfill your work obligations your full deposit is given back. All you pay for is the application fee. Sorry for the essay but this should answer your question and all subsequent questions about volunteering with WET. Clean Vibes I have no clue. Lastly, I really enjoyed volunteering but probably wouldn't do it again unless I could convince someone to do it with me.

You get to pick one band that you have to see. Your schedule is made around that. You can pick a certain band that will give you say Saturday night off which is what I did. Or just choose your favorite band. You miss some shows but that is how you get to go for free. There are two areas you can be assigned to. Headquarters by VIP or in Centeroo. If you get assigned in Centeroo like I was you get to at least listen to shows most of the time. Like one shift I sat outside of the Ford thing and folded T-Shirts. Got to listen to three different acts while doing it. It's not that bad, you get to do stuff your friends didn't do but you miss some shows as well.

there's no real guarantee you'd be able to see all the shows you want to. it's a risk you take but well worth it.
I did WET volunteering last year and was supposed to be scheduled during my band request but ended up i got done early luckily and was able to make it still. If you do during fest shifts at least you get a better chance of being near music during your shift. I do tollbooth because of the fact that I still have to check in on Tuesday and am guaranteed to be done by Friday evening, so I have less chance of missing shows since I wont work on Saturday or Sunday. -
